Hornstrandir, Iceland
Canon R5 and Canon RF 100-500mm F4.5-7.1 L IS USM lens
This was taken on a trip to Hornvik - a wilderness in Iceland's remote Westfjords. I was on an zodiac, bobbing about on rough water and awed by the majestic basalt formations - the product of ancient volcanic activity - and home to many seabirds. I wanted to capture this tapestry of textures and colours woven by nature and changed by time, and to create a low key image to reflect the dramatic response that the vista evoked for me. Taken at f/8, 1/1000 sec and ISO 1250, minus 1 step exposure compensation.
