Puffin Fratercula arctica, adult stood in front of a rising full moon. I’d been waiting for the right conditions for this, I needed to be on the island the day before full moon so moon is in higher in the sky after sunset. Then hope that the weather plays ball, and thankfully May this year was mostly cloudless every day. Perfect! Again, trying to capture a fidgety puffin in the right place with the right pose together with the moon, took a LOT of attempts, all the while the ambient light is dropping so it’s a race against time. Using the wider aperture of f/2 helps moon appear bigger and the flip out screen to get the camera close to the ground while using eye tracking to grab focus.
