Description

I was commissioned by The Caterer, the leading multimedia brand for the UK hospitality Industry, to do a cover shoot of Thomas Pass, owner of Culinera. Culinera has become the first contract caterer to win The Caterer’s Newcomer Award. We had perfect cloudy/sunny conditions amongst the apple orchards of Peterley Manor Farm. I had a vision of using lots of apples and a wooden ladder somewhere within the shoot. I loved the different textures of the trees offset amongst the gorgeous colours of the apples. Tom was so friendly and was up for trying different set ups. I had to be mindful of the cover, leaving enough space around my subject for text and the masthead. I loved this photograph out of my series and it was the one that was chosen for the cover. It was a brilliant two hours where everything came together and we chatted and laughed. I had to react quickly to the changing light as the sun would blast through the clouds then disappear. I feel the image has a certain magic about it.
