Over the past few years, my passion for Atlantic puffins has taken me on an adventure that has spanned the length of the British Isles. It’s been a long journey with many bumps in the road. In fact, the setbacks have only made me more determined to showcase the lives of these fantastic seabirds. Each summer, as part of this project. I make the long journey north to the Shetland archipelago. A truly breathtaking place, with wild seascapes and rugged cliffs, these islands are home to countless breeds of seabirds. But it's the puffin colonies that keep drawing me back. The British climate being what it is, if we decide to wait for the perfect light, we could be waiting for a long time. Shooting in clouds, rain, and fog is all too common here, but don’t be downhearted. Accept the conditions with vigor! Many of the finest images are achieved in the worst weather, but you have to face the challenges, and keeping yourself warm and dry is vitally important. Of the many wonderful locations to photograph puffins, Shetland is undoubtedly my favorite.
