Birdlife
River Teifi, Cardigan, Wales
Olympus EM1X, Olympus 300mm f4
Along the banks of the River Teifi in Cardigan town centre is a popular area for Piedwagtails and Swallows to feed on insects above the surface of the water during May. I decided to concentrate on photographing both on this day as the lighting was good and the tide was in reflecting the blue sky and clouds. The speed and accuracy of these birds is something to behold. A shutter speed of 1/3200 sec on my Olympus EM1X was necessary to freeze the action of this Piedwagtail about to catch the insect in midair.
