I am lucky to have a local pond which has kingfishers on it all year round. With the appropriate licence I can observe and update interested parties of their behaviour and successes through the breeding season. Last year there were two or three cold spells which caused a sharp frost on just about everything. I sat patiently hoping the Kingfisher would perch on the frozen vegetation before it thawed. And luckily one did. This is a very simple shot, but I like the way the white of the frost enhances the rich blues of the Kingfisher.
