Description

In a sport where you need the right pass to get anywhere near to the cars and drivers, Lewis Hamilton always celebrates winning his home Grand Prix with his fans - usually by crowd surfing! Having media accreditation for the event allowed me to be in position before the fans flooded over the armco barriers and across the track to celebrate with Lewis after he won the 2019 Formula One British Grand Prix at Silverstone. I took a gamble on if/where he might run to his fans and this paid off. Shot at 1/640th at f/8.0 I wanted to capture the sheer joy of Lewis and his fans and in particular I love the small boys face, as he sits on his dad's shoulders and celebrates with his idol.
