Isle of Wight Festival 2017 during a performance with David Guetta
Shot using the Nikon D600, and the Nikon 24-70mm 2.8F
in 2017 I photographed David Guetta at The Isle of Wight Festival, we were told that we had to photograph him from the camera run, which is where the Sky Arts cameras normally go from left to right to capture the performance for Television. Wading through the crowds before the performance and clambering over the railings into the camera pit we readied ourselves to shoot the set. I spent the whole evening maybe 2 hours ducking the cameras and watching the show. Towards the end of the set a huge streamer canon blew and covered the crowd. It was at this point a member of the crowd jumped up on the shoulders of her partner and raiser her hands to the sky. I was focused on the stage at this point in order to try and capture the confetti as well as keep it sharp but I actually really like the fact that the woman is off focus. In a time where music and events are restricted this image really speaks to me, and is one of my most favourite photographs I've ever taken.
