Birdlife
Lackford lakes , Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, UK
Nikon D850 and 500mm f4 with 1.4x Tele
I had not long before, lost my musical career as a violinist due to severe tinnitus, and been travelling in a campervan with my first camera, struggling to deal with my new music less reality....learning to take pictures from watching youtube videos. On my return from travelling I had only taken landscape images, but found lackford lakes, a wildlife reserve , on my doorstep in Suffolk. I went nearly everyday for a year, learning the new techniques i needed to photograph birds, and in particular kingfishers. This image goes against your rules of not having montage images, i do understand that, ....but i'm not really a strong believer in rules if the image you produce is what you intended and you are honest about it.....This montage comes from a single burst of shots.....I had the idea to create the flightpath of the bird, and here it is....A rule breaker, yes, but one of my favourite images....I'm happy to lose £5 to share it with you :)
