As the group of Gentoo penguins porpoised towards the shore, they changed direction and headed on a course that would take them between my Zodiac and the wall of the iceberg. I could see the potential of the shot, and quickly got as low as possible in the boat. All I had to do was correctly predict where they might surface. I got a single shot where the leading bird was isolated and it was completely clear of smooth water. Fortunately for me, that single frame was almost exactly as I'd imagined it in my head.
