Description

'Dragon Hound' - otherwise known as Lola - was captured very early, while out walking, one chilly spring morning earlier this year (2018). Lola has a unique tuft of hair on the top of her head, which I wanted to capture, but not in a traditional pet photography way! I love backlighting and I noticed her distinctive profile was magnificent in the early morning sun - capturing both the detail of her beautiful coat, with the added bonus of her 'dragon' breath on the cold morning air. Shot in the middle of a huge field with natural backlighting and some exposure adjustments in Lightroom - I had to be quick as Lurchers don't stay still for long! In reality Lola is a big softy - her owner loves this image as it's a complete departure from traditional pet photography and captures her slightly crazy Lurcher-spirit perfectly.
