Description

Earlier this year we were tracking wild chimpanzee as part of a habituation project in Kibale Forrest, Uganda. After 8 hours and 20 km of trekking through the dense forrest we finally came across this guy, siting in neck high undergrowth with only his head visible above. It was far to dark to shoot but seconds before we were spotted and he made his escape the light broke through the canopy enabling me to take this shot. Sadly we lost the family across a river after that, and didn't see them again, making this single shot even more special to me. Shot hand held at 300mm f5.6 - 1/160 sec - ISO 3200.
