Courtship in Colour i chose this name as it reflects a shared thread that binds all life together, the instinct to connect. Nudibranchs, though small and short-lived, they carry a story of resilience against the backdrop of fragile marine ecosystems. This brief dance of courtship is a call to notice of lives so often unseen, human or sea slug we are deeply tied to the health of our oceans. While diving for this image, a sudden change in weather forced us to switch locations. What should have been clear blue water instead revealed an eerie and haunting sight of countless white plastic bags drifting like ghosts around us. On these remote islands, where waste management is scarce, plastic finds its way into the sea, threatening even the smallest lives beneath the surface. So, this call to notice is not only for our marine life but for the desperate action to help ourselves which in turn helps our oceans.
