Landscape

I visited Rattray Head lighthouse on a stormy day, with dark clouds passing overhead and an ethereal glow to the light falling on the landscape. The lighthouse itself looked great against the dark sky but I wanted to find some foreground interest to include. After a brief scout, I found these grassy dunes and used a gap as a frame for the lighthouse. By using a panoramic crop I aimed to isolate just the important elements that make up the image; the grasses, the lighthouse and the clouds and in so doing create a more cinematic shot.
