Description
Exploring the shores of Loch Maree on a changeable winter morning, I discovered this solitary tree standing defiantly on a small hill against the imposing, snow-capped Mount Slioch. Working with a 24-105mm lens and 0.6 graduated ND filter, I reacted quickly as the sun broke through shifting clouds, bathing the tree and foreground in golden light. The moment highlighted the scale of Highland landscape - one tree dwarfed by Scotland's towering geology.
