She never cried is a film photography series exploring the mother–daughter relationship—one of the most intimate yet conflicted bonds in human experience. The intertwined braids of two women become a metaphor for a connection that is both the continuation of life and an emotional entanglement. From ancient times to the present, only daughters have truly carried their mother’s DNA. Yet in today’s patriarchal structures, female intimacy is shaped and often constrained by power. Mothers and daughters oscillate between love and control, recognition and rejection. They comfort and protect each other, yet may also resist and grow weary; they are bound together, yet must learn to separate. Through the visual language of braiding and interweaving, this work reveals the unseen tension between generations, engaging with themes of identity, gender, and inheritance. In the silence of the images, the viewer encounters both the quiet transmission and the quiet resistance of love.
