Description

This is one of a series of self portraits that I have done in my research on healing from emotional trauma. Initially influenced by the book, 'The Body Keeps the Score', my research explores the themes of healing from trauma, specifically emotional trauma cause by abusive relationships. The portrait over two polaroids is representative of on person not feeling whole. Like being frozen in anxiety and despair, the polaroids are suspended together on the rocky surface of the beach. The beach is a place where I find healing. The fresh air and salty waves remind me I'm alive. The beach is where I come to heal.
