Description

I captured this shot of myself surrounded by a vast, empty expanse of lava fields under moody Icelandic skies, without any signs of life to be seen. There were points where I'd driven for hours on end without seeing another human being, or a car, a house or even any wildlife. This place in particular really stood out to me, because although nothing was around me, it was still pure beauty. I carefully chose my yellow hoodie to contrast against the black sand, and made my way down this long, desolate road, with nothing but my camera gear and my playlist to keep me company. The sky was quickly covered by thick stormy clouds, illuminated with a red tinge as the sunset tried to burn its way through, creating this scene of which I can only describe as: isolation. Shot on my DJI Air 2S, 8.4mm, 1/80 Sec, f/2.8, ISO 800. This image is made up of 15 AEB shots stitched together into a panorama.
