Self Portrait
Edinburgh, Scotland
iPhone 13 Mini
This series explores the journey of caring for my Nonna during her decline from dementia. The images are shot in the bedroom I used to sleep in as a child in her home. Dementia is a horrendous disease that needs destigmatisation and people need more assistance in managing it. This image is the final image from a series of self portraits made into real puzzles. Each puzzle has more key pieces missing from the image than the last. This has been mounted on a glimmering cream and gold card which enhances the feeling of static when trying to remember / fill in gaps in your memory.
