Low Light Photography
My bedroom - London
Nikon D7500 + NIKKOR 20mm f/1.8G + Light painting rod + Flash light + Tripod
During the height of the winter pandemic in 2021, when the UK was in full lockdown, I sought ways to stay creative without leaving my apartment. I conceived the idea of using myself as a reflector of light, so I decided to dress in a full sequin outfit, including a sequin face mask. In my small, pitch-black bedroom, I set up my camera on a tripod facing me, and then I sat on a stool, ready to begin. With a light rod in hand, I started making large, sweeping motions from behind me, around the camera, and back again. It took several hours of practice to perfect the technique, as I needed to remain almost entirely motionless, with only my right arm in controlled movement.
