This image is part of a creative fashion editorial that focuses on the compositional relationship between nostalgia and liminal space. As a point of interest, the idea of the shoot was to camouflage the stylistic line between clothing and setting, creating a scene that feels oddly fantastical yet conceptualised. The setting is entirely hand painted and took me two days to create. The reason I chose the cloud pattern that is depicted, is to narrate to the viewer that sense of anemoia, meaning ‘Nostalgia for a time or a place one has never known’. From the viewer's perspective, this sentimental feature resembles that of an illustration, as if sourced straight out of a children's storybook. Therefore evoking how fashion and creation can be combined in a way that transports the viewer back to their happier childlike self. Model - Archie Garrett. Camera settings - 1/160, F/8, ISO 100.
