Description

I have been following this family of Great Crested Grebes on a local lake over a long period and spent a lot of time in the late winter months lying on the muddy banks at the side of the lake. Having witnessed the famous weed dance from a distance, I was particularly pleased when they decided to dance much closer than usual. As the lake is surrounded by oak trees, the grebes had to content themselves with old oak leaves rather than weeds and performed the Oak Leaf dance for me
