Ol Pejeta, Kenya
Sony A7RV, 70-200mm f2.8 GM Lens.
I was photographing a group of White Rhino on a road in Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Kenya. There was a family of Spotted Thick Knee on the verge of the road where I positioned the jeep to photograph the Rhino. One of the adults moved onto the road to distract us while the chicks and other parent could move away. The Rhinos had their backs to me so I thought I would use them as the background for the Thick-knee instead to make a more interesting image. I love the disapproving look on the Thick-knee, not at all impressed with the Rhino and my jeep being in its territory. I used a pole with the camera on the end to take the photograph to achieve the low angle viewpoint, firing the shutter with a wired shutter release. The settings were 1/800 SS f8 ISO 640 @191mm focal length.
