The Stockholm Metro is often described as one of the world's largest art exhibitions, with nearly all of the 100 stations featuring a unique design or feature. One of my favourite stations is Solna Centrum, a stop characterised by its distinctive red-green wall art. Tucked away at one end of the platforms are two elevators, or 'hissar' in Swedish. The lifts are eerily lit, and the dot matrix displays showing 'HISS' above the doors give the illusion of sentience, as if the elevators don't want you to approach.
