Self Portrait

In this self-portrait titled "Living in a Bubble," I wanted to captured a visual representation of self-imposed barriers and the detachment from the external world. The photograph features my face, distorted through a multitude of small, clear balls, symbolizing the metaphorical bubble in which we often confine ourselves. By positioning myself behind the glass covered with these spheres, I aimed to convey the concept of living in a bubble—a state of seclusion and protection from the uncertainties and challenges that life presents. With my eyes closed and a calm expression on my face, I wanted to depict a sense of tranquility and detachment from the outside world. This absence of emotion shows the idea of being shielded from external influences, maintaining a certain level of isolation. Upon closer examination of the individual balls, one may notice that a few of them contain faces with open eyes. This intentional detail serves as a metaphor, suggesting that even within our self-imposed barriers, there are opportunities for connection and awareness. These few faces symbolize the possibility of breaking free from the confines of our bubble and embracing the world beyond. Through this photograph, I invite viewers to reflect and ask themselves questions: Are we truly experiencing life to its fullest potential? Or are we unintentionally limiting ourselves by remaining safely enclosed within our comfort zones?
