This is a Canary-Shouldered thorn moth. As I was finishing my nightshift at work in the early morning, I noticed this small yellow moth hanging on a plant next to my car. luckily I had all my camera equipment in the boot of my car, so I quickly set it all up ready for the shot. firstly, I offered the moth a small stick to see if it would grab onto it, it slowly walked up the stick to the top which created a great pose. I prayed that it would stay in that position as I quickly set up my camera and magnification, without spooking it so that it stayed where it was. I flipped the LCD screen so that I could lower my camera and get a nice angle. I also added a background card behind the subject to add some colour and contrast, because when shooting at night, its flat black. camera setting were / Aperture f8/ shutterspeed 1/50 / ISO 200 I also used the OM SYSTEM focus bracketing feature and used Helicon focus, stacking software, in post to merge them together.
