Macro
in my garden in St Nicholas at Wade, Kent.
Sony A7iii with a Sigma 105mm macro lens
Soon after I took delivery of my new macro lens (Sigma 105mm Art Macro) I went into my garden looking for insects. When I spotted this Ladybird on a ranunculus flower I immediately knew that it had the potential to make a good 'single colour frame' and so I photographed it as it crawled over and under the flower - almost a hundred photos later I thought that I had one where the composition worked, with the ladybird looking into the frame. It was a bright, overcast day and I used no equipment other than the camera - the settings were ISO 200, f/10 and shutter 1/160. I only had to clean up the image a little in the edit (mainly specks of pollen) and then just some contrast and exposure lift.
