Landscape
Bude, Cornwall
Lumix G9, 8- 18mm
My home beach of Summerleaze in Bude. One of the reasons I love to photograph the coast is that the landscape is forever changing around you. No two days look the same. I've photographed this beach hundreds of times and this is the first time I've seen patterns like this left in the sand from the receding tide. Compositionally, I got as close to the sand as possible to show the individual grains of sand and lined the scene up so the patterns would draw the viewer towards the sunset. I particularly like how the patterns look like roots reaching out of the ocean.
