Description

Easily one of the most impressive vocalists in rock, Skunk Anansie’s Skin is also a music photographer’s dream with her amazing stage wear, charisma and high-energy performances. With my camera set to cope with the dynamic, but challenging low-light conditions (2000 ISO, 1/250sec shutter speed, aperture of f/2.8), I tried to capture moments which encapsulated the show. I love this image as I feel Skin’s grin in it in particular reveals not only her obvious enjoyment of performing, but also mirrors that of every member of the crowd in attendance. With the lead-in lines drawing the eye into her and the light spilling through the horns of Skin’s headdress, I feel the image itself remains dynamic despite being a moment between vocals.
