Description

The environmental activist group Extinction Rebellion (XR) organised a two-week protest campaign in London, started on 23th August. The group demanded that the government take greater action to address climate change. The campaign launched with a protest in Trafalgar Square. This year protesters intended to disrupt the City of London aiming to target larger investment banks and financial institutions. The group was demanding the Government stops investment in fossil fuels. As part of the protests activists blocked the road in central London. More than 300 arrests have been made during the first week.
