Shot for an editorial feature for CNET.com, I wanted to create a light and airy image image of this bottle of Lind & Lime gin that would nicely complement the glasswork. I used a mirrored surface and a simple sheet of diffusion material for the background, resulting in a high-key image with a very minimal colour palette. To add some extra flair, I used a sheet of black card positioned behind the background paper to create the bold triangle effect, adjusting the angle so that it became an arrow pointing to the bottle, thus drawing the viewer's eye to the hero of the image. It was shot at 70mm, ISO 100, f/6.3, 1/50s. A single stripbox-modified strobe was used to light the bottle, with a reflector positioned on the other side to bounce some light back into the scene. A separate light with a reflector dish was used for the background.
