Description

A shoal of silversides huddles in the shallows of a jetty at high tide, evading the incoming circle of lionfish intent on picking out their lunch from the stragglers. Preoccupied with their immediate predators, the silversides pass without much consideration of the watchful eyes of their airborne foe. The birds sit patiently, seemingly unconcerned with the immense buffet beneath them. The egrets have no need to rush, they need only watch and wait for an unsuspecting silverside to present itself to them. f14, 1/200, ISO 200
