Trick Riding is an extremely dangerous equestrian sport which requires maximum skill and trust both in the rider and horse. When I was approached by two Stafford based Trick riders who are sisters to capture them some Trick riding imagery I knew the method of capture had to match the drama and adrenaline contained within the subject. So I knew from the off it had be be a mixture of off camera flash and ambient exposure to truly draw out the best from the image and the subject. After observing the line they take for the trick I set up three lights to correctly illuminate the subject whilst under exposing the ambient in order to create maximum drama within the ambient exposure and turning day to night. The lights and transmitter I used were as follows: Godox AD 1200pro Godox AD 400pro x2 Godox wireless transmitter. My Camera settings were as follows: ISO 100, F2.8, 1/800s and 70mm focal length.
