During the UK lockdown, a friend and I set up a creative challenge dance off. We gave each other a photo theme and then 24 hours to shoot, edit and upload the photo to Instagram. My creative photography challenge was to create an image that showed how nature influences my life and how it helps my life. In the last 7 months, I have spent countless hours exploring the Gloucestershire countryside. In a bid to help my mental health, I started running up and down the only flat road in a 5 mile radius. That first run was back in January and now I’m scooting around a 5k quite happily. I honestly thought I’d shave my own eyebrows off before running a 5k was possible. I felt a new level of resilience growing and I really do think running through the country roads has a huge part to do with it. There’s obviously other things at play that help, but nothing beats the runners high. My favourite time of day to go out in is golden hour, nothing beats watching the sun set and the air cooling off after a long day. So for my challenge, I’ve photographed myself running, in golden hour, which is the very best part of the day. I used my iPhone 11 with the Sony Imaging Mobile app to release the trigger.
