During the late hours of one evening, I found myself 6 meters under the surface of the Red Sea, in Marsa Nakari, Egypt. Carefully positioned and neutrally buoyant, my dive partner and I floated for 46 minutes, carefully trying to experiment with capturing the luminesce of these coral polyps. It wasn’t easy, countless shots out of focus either because we drifted too far away or we were swept along with the slightest of currents, but every once in a while, we caught a glance of a in focus shot as it flickered by on the back of the camera screen. Of course, with the temperature dropping we didn’t waste too much time viewing the images we had taken, instead we focused on the next shot.
