Whitlingham Great Broad, Norfolk NR14, UK
Nikon D850 camera, Nikon 400mm f2.8 VR lens, Nikon DR5 right angle viewer, short monopod
During a joyous June evening at Whitlingham Broad I presented with one of the best photographic opportunities of my life when a mother swan, who I regularly photograph, presented me with her two young cygnets and allowed me very close to them for the next two hours. I was sat very low using my right angle viewer to get the lens as close to the water as possible. I've caught cygnets attempting to flap their gorgeous little winglets before. but never so close and clear. As well as the obvious cute factor of baby birds, I love to catch the parental bond, which much to my delight was provided for when mother swan silently floated past at exactly the right moment to frame the little one. 1/500 sec at f/3.2, ISO 64
