Water life
St Martins, Isles of Scilly
Nikon D90 with 10.5mm wide angle lens in Aquatica housing with a single Sea and Sea YS110 strobe
I've snorkelled from the same beach on St Martins for the last five years. When I visit each summer I go in search of the jellyfish the incoming tide brings close to the shore. Each time the aim is to capture the blue sky, the white clouds and a bright sunburst behind my jellyfish subject. Some days there is no sun other days there are no jellyfish. When there is sunshine it is often so bright the sensor on my old D90 can't cope and all I get is a cyan hotspot. This year the tides, subject and sunshine all came together towards the end of the day when the sun was low enough in the sky as not to overload my D90 sensor making this capture possible.
