Connaught Hospital, Freetown, Sierrea Leone
Nikon F100, Nikon 50mm f/1.4, Kodak Tri-X 400
I captured this photo during a visit to Connaught Hospital in Freetown, the capital of Sierra Leone. The hospital is drastically underfunded, with rusty beds, little to no appropriate medial equipment and over population. This young girl was admitted to the hospital for severe petrol burns. In cases such as these, it is often unknown how patients suffer from such injuries, with parents being absent or non cooperative with hospital staff or government officials. I captured this photo using black and white 35mm film during my visit.
