The Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust is the trusted voice and leading source of information for the conservation of Hebridean whales, dolphins and porpoises (cetaceans).
Each year our specialist research vessel, Silurian, travels thousands of nautical miles, monitoring Hebridean seas, to increase our understanding of Scotland’s cetaceans and the threats they face. Using what we’ve learnt, we bring marine education to life through our unique floating classroom. Our team sail Silurian to remote island schools, breaking down geographical barriers, to welcome children on-board to learn about their local marine environment.
Based on the Isle of Mull, in the heart of the Hebrides, we work directly with local communities to ensure whales, dolphins and porpoises are protected and valued throughout Scotland’s west coast.
