Anything and everything in miniature. This photography competition is geared towards seeking the small details in Scotland. If small is indeed beautiful then in this category we want to showcase the often overlooked intricate details that make up our every day life. From insects straddling water droplets to miniature toy figurines in obscure settings, this is macro at it's finest.
Life in Scotland would be far less colourful without our faithful pets. This competition is aimed at honouring the special place that our faithful friends have in our lives. Show us the character of those animals closest to your heart. That said, in line with the responsible and ethically-centred nature of this competition, the BPA will not accept pictures of exotic pets into the competition. The exotic pet market is often fuelled by greed, neglect and profit-led breeding. Furthermore, it causes huge global detriment to our biodiversity and habitat protection year on year. The judges hope that their position is understood and apologise for any inconvenience caused.
