Description
At the end of a very long day shooting this couple's wedding I wanted just one more image when I saw this lovely scene with the fairy lights. I brought them in and set up a huge overhead baffled umbrella light, just out of shot, to create a directed but beautifully soft light over the couple. I balanced the ambient exposure to ensure the background lights were clearly visible and added a gold mist filter to my lens to add some soft glow. I directed the couple's position, having the groom look off into middle distance and the bridge to sit against him, showing off both her cool end-of-day boots and the ruffles on her evening gown. I'm really pleased with this image and it was the favourite of the the couple and their friends.
