This image was taken inside a cavern at Los Islotes, home to a protected colony of sea lions. In the darkness of the cave, I positioned myself facing the light to capture this playful pup as it swam curiously towards me. Sea lion pups are naturally inquisitive, and in this fleeting moment, it paused mid-water, locking eyes with me before darting off again—a magical encounter in its underwater world.
