The Border This photograph captures a seemingly ordinary moment: a man crossing the street. But what transforms this image into a deeper visual reflection is its composition — caught between reflection and reality, between overlapping planes, between two worlds. The title “The Border” arises from this idea of transition. The yellow road line, which usually marks limits or restrictions, becomes here a symbol of passage: the man steps from a clear, defined space into a distorted, mirrored, impersonal one. The city seems ready to absorb him, but he is still in motion — perhaps still deciding whether to enter that world of anonymity, of towering buildings, of architectural repetition. The image raises questions about identity, about individuality in an urban environment that tends to homogenize, and about choice: to move forward, to stop, to disappear or to remain visible. The figure is not the hero of a story, but rather a symbol of all those who cross borders daily — external or internal. “The Border” offers no answers, but invites reflection: on our place in the city, on the moment we become part of a system, and on the exact instant when we still have the power to choose.
