Description
This photograph features a female Prosopocoilus savagei, a striking stag beetle species, captured with a carefully crafted creative lighting setup. Naturally, the beetle displays warm brown and orange hues, but in this portrait, I transformed its appearance through the use of colored gels and controlled flashes, altering both the tones of the insect and its background. The result is a surreal reinterpretation of the beetle — a blend of natural form and artistic vision — where the interplay of light and color elevates the subject beyond simple documentation into a conceptual piece.
