Land Animal
Nairobi National Park, Kenya
Canon R6ii with RF 100-500 1/1600 f8 ISO 1250
I was photographing a young white rhino as it foraged among a patch of wildflowers in Nairobi National Park, its mother very close by. I was struck by the contrast between the tiny delicate flowers and the raw, primordial power of one of the planet's strongest and most formidable creatures. Noticing a tiny flower resting at the base of the rhino's horn - its most powerful yet most fragile body part in view of the poaching industry, I thought it very symbolic of the fragility and vulnerability this giant of the animal kingdom faces today and in the future.
