Description
I took this image in the Lencois Maranheses National Park on Brazil’s north-east coast in June 2024. The trip involved an incredible five-day trek across the park’s wilderness, scaling dunes and wading through rivers and lagoons. The white sands and the coloured waters of the rivers that run through the area create beautiful swirling shapes and textures. I composed the image by hovering a drone over the estuary of the Rio Negro.
