Description

This shot exists in many different versions. While shooting in the northern town of Saint Louis, Senegal, I ventured into the neighbourhood of Guet N'Dar. There, I met its people and tried to understand the community with the help of my guide. It was during this exploration that I came across this spot. Initially, all I noticed were the jeans and the door with the Senegalese flag. I had a feeling that something interesting would unfold if I just waited. So, I waited. And I waited. And I waited. This photograph is, by far, my favourite capture of all the subjects that passed by during that lengthy wait.
