Description

A fell-runner, Jacob Tonkin, and his mountain-companion Hector topping out on the infamous climb above Striding Edge, Helvellyn, on a brutally cold crisp winters day in Cumbria. Having set off well before sunrise, we summited to find a thin layer of cloud covering the summit of Helvellyn. Knowing the fell intimately, we descended towards Striding Edge in the hope of cutting down under the clouds to find the light. Sure enough, there it was, and Jacob and Hector made quick work of the rough conditions down to the ridge and then back up again to make for home.
