Coniston, The Lake District, England
Sony A7iii, 55mm f1.8, 3 x radio triggered flash
Carl Barrow has made it his mission to explore every last corner of Coniston Coppermines, a vast, unstable network of tunnels and caverns in The English Lake District. A quarryman himself, living with leukemia, he finds solace and purpose deep underground, spending almost all of his free time single-handedly exploring and surveying these abandoned mine workings, some dating to the 1500's.
