Macro
My garden in St Nicholas at Wade, Kent
Sony A7iii with Sigma Art 105mm macro lens
I had had the idea that I wanted to capture a snail, but only have one of its eyes in focus. Luckily, my garden is full of them currently so I watched as one crawled over a plant pot and photographed it, just focussing on the eye. The lens was wide open at f/2.8 so I could throw everything else out of focus and make the eye stand out. Shutter speed was 1/200, ISO 200. I cloned out some dirt on the pot in the edit and took a little colour out of the snail shell to send it in to the background more.
